Case Study
Longleat
Set within 900 acres of Capability Brown landscaped parkland, Longleat House is widely regarded as one of the best examples of high Elizabethan architecture in Britain and one of the most beautiful stately homes open to the public.
1949 saw Longleat House opened to the public on a fully commercial basis – it was the first stately home to do so. 1966 then saw the next “first” when Longleat opened the first Safari Park outside of Africa.
In spite of initial concerns from local residents, the concept of a drive through safari park proved hugely popular and forty years on, Longleat Safari Park remains one of the country’s leading wildlife attractions.
As a result of the success of the BBC’s Animal Park programme, thepodfactory was commissioned to produce a series of video podcasts which take a “behind the scenes” look at what goes on in Longleat House and the Safari Park.
These podcasts have proved to be hugely successful with high numbers of people regularly visiting the Longleat website to take a look at the latest events.
Steve Mytton, Marketing Assistant at Longleat, says “We have been really pleased with the podcasts that thepodfactory have produced and we are delighted that so many people have enjoyed downloading them from our website”.
