Case Study
Churches Conservation Trust
The Churches Conservation Trust is a London based national charity which cares for over 340 of England’s finest historic churches which are no longer required for regular parish worship.
The Trust has responsibility for the largest single collection of historic churches in the country ranging from the virtually untouched medieval in idyllic rural settings to ornately impressive Victorian in busy town centres and includes ten challenging inner urban churches, which will need new uses and significant funds in order to survive.
Following the success of the Sacred Churches Trail in Bristol, thepodfactory has been commissioned to produce audio guided tours of two Churches cared for by the Trust – St Leonard’s, Bridgnorth and St Peter’s, Sudbury
The Churches within the Trust already receive visitor numbers in excess of 1.5 million each year but the Trust recognises that there is a need to encourage more people to visit these beautiful buildings – with a strong education programme in place there is also a need to find ways to connect with a new, younger audience and this is where Podcasts come into their own.
